Hectoria Thomas represented TOSHPA at the AEMRN conference in Geneva
As a mental health nurse, Hectoria was invited to speak at the United Nations in Geneva at a two day conference
from the 7th to 8th December 2017. She did a presentation on the work of TOSHPA (The Organisation of
Sierra Leone Healthcare Professionals Abroad), focusing on capacity building and the training

Commonwealth nurses and Midwives conference
Mimi Rogers represented TOSHPA at the Commonwealth nurses and Midwives conference
on 10th and 11th March in London.
The Chair Elizabeth Conteh, Diaspora Officer and Deputy Chair Natasha Banya visited
the Sierra Leone delegates on 11th at conference to support them morally.

TOSHPA supports strengthening of health service of Koinadugu District
TOSHPA Chair Elizabeth Conteh supported the strengthening of the health service of Koinadugu District through capacity building by IOM Sierra Leone, Japanese government funding, IOM UK, Office Of Diaspora Sierra Leone and Ministry of health and Sanitation. For photos click Koinadugu District.

TOSHPA'S response to 14th August 2017 mudslide and flood in Western Area Rural and Freetown from 1st- 28th October 2017.

TOSHPA Health Professionals Ms Susan Kailondo- Banya and Ms Hectoria Thomas met with stakeholders of the
Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation Mrs Madina Rahman, Social Welfare, Mental Health and psychosocial coalition team
and National Security officials before starting their mission on mental health and psychosocial care to mudslide and

Mudslide disaster in Sierra Leone 14th Aug 2017- TOSHPA's humanitarian response.

Mudslide in Freetown- 14th August 2017Our representative Susan Banya-Legg, the Diaspora officer, with Hawa Turay and Mrs Patricia Idris attended
the London Town Hall meeting organised by the Sierra Leone High Commissioner Mr Edward Turay for communities to respond to the mudslide and flood victims needs in Sierra Leone.
TOSHPA as a humanitarian organisation is responding by sending mental health and psychosocial care Professionals to work alongside the local colleagues in offering care to survivors of the 14th August 2017 disaster.
