TOSHPA at the Heart of Humanitarian Collaboration

At the end of October 2023, TOSHPA had the privilege of participating in the Humanitarian Exchange Forum held at the Danish Refugee Council’s headquarters in Copenhagen. This event brought together an array of organizations, including the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and DEMAC (Diaspora Emergency Action & Coordination), among others. It was a remarkable opportunity for us to share our organization’s best practices and engage in meaningful discussions and knowledge sharing.

Coordination for a Better Future

The importance of coordination in humanitarian efforts cannot be overstated. At the forum, TOSHPA had the chance to collaborate with various organizations with different expertise and resources. This collaboration allowed us to gain insights into effective strategies and harmonize our efforts for more significant impact. We left with a deeper appreciation for the power of partnerships in creating positive change.

Localizing Humanitarian Efforts

Localization was another key topic of discussion at the forum. TOSHPA firmly believes in the principle of localization – empowering local communities to take an active role in humanitarian action. We had the opportunity to share our experiences and learn from others about how to ensure that aid efforts are both culturally sensitive and community-driven.

Climate Action for a Sustainable World

With the pressing issue of climate change, discussions about climate action were a highlight of the forum. TOSHPA is committed to contributing to sustainable development and climate action in the regions we serve. Engaging with experts and other organizations, we exchanged ideas and explored innovative approaches to address the climate crisis as part of our humanitarian work.

Fostering Development for All

At the core of our mission is the belief in sustainable development. Our participation in the forum reinforced our commitment to fostering development that benefits all, especially those in need. The shared knowledge and best practices will undoubtedly help us shape our future initiatives and projects.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to DEMAC for organizing this valuable exchange. DEMAC, as a leader in diaspora engagement, brought together humanitarian organizations, fostering an environment where ideas could flourish, and partnerships could blossom. This forum has left us inspired and eager to continue our mission to make the world a better place.

As we look ahead, TOSHPA is more motivated than ever to lead humanitarian initiatives that create lasting impact, promote local involvement, address climate change, and contribute to sustainable development. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Stay tuned for more updates on TOSHPA’s humanitarian endeavors and the positive changes we are striving to achieve. We believe in a better world, and together, we can make it happen.
