TOSHPA Volunteers from the United Kingdom Visit Diabetes Clinic
Bo, Sierra Leone — The Organisation of Sierra Leonean Healthcare Professionals Abroad (TOSHPA) proudly welcomed its volunteers from the United Kingdom to the newly established nurse-led Diabetes Clinic at Bo Government Hospital.
The visit marked another key milestone in TOSHPA’s ongoing mission to strengthen healthcare delivery in Sierra Leone through global collaboration, knowledge exchange, and professional mentorship.
During their visit, the UK-based volunteers worked alongside local nurses and hospital staff to assess clinic operations, share best practices in diabetes management, and support patient education and community engagement efforts.
“Seeing our colleagues from the UK actively involved on the ground demonstrates the true spirit of TOSHPA—healthcare professionals working together beyond borders to improve lives,” said a representative from the clinic.
The Diabetes Clinic, approved by the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, continues to serve as Sierra Leone’s only nurse-led facility dedicated to diabetes care — providing screenings, counseling, treatment, and lifestyle education to patients across the Bo District and beyond.
This collaboration highlights the power of the diaspora in transforming healthcare systems and supporting sustainable, patient-centered initiatives in Sierra Leone.
Together, we heal. Together, we build.
